Air Force Military Silver Round
This is a one ounce military silver round featuring Air Force defending the sky.
Air Force silver medallions, sometimes called challenge coins, have been popular, especially within military and veteran communities. The tradition of military coins is widely believed to trace back to World War I, but it gained stronger cultural footing during World War II and especially the Vietnam era.
Challenge coins, including Air Force silver medallions, became much more popular in the 1980's and 90's. They were widely used for recognition and morale-building. By the 2000's, they became mainstream enough that even American presidents distributed challenge coins.
Military silver caught on better than many of the other themed silver rounds.
